Boating ops are wherever you turn in Dixie. After all, the county is bordered on three sides by water! Excellent marina facilities are available at the Suwannee River, Suwannee at the Gulf, Horseshoe Beach and at Gulf-front Steinhatchee. Enjoy Dixie waters but please be careful, watch out for manatees, for canoeists and fellow boaters.

Log Landing WMA

Covering 5,048  acres Log Landing WMA is available for deer, hog, turkey, and small game hunting. Log Landing is part of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) Wildlife Management Area (WMA) program.

For more information about WMAs, contact the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) at 386.758.0525 to request its annual hunting handbook or stop by your local tax collector’s office to pick up a copy.

Lower Suwannee National Refuge Hunting

Hunting of big game, small game, and waterfowl is permitted during designated seasons. White-tail deer, Osceola turkeys, and feral hogs are the most sought-after species. Hunting license and state required stamps (not WMA stamps) are required in accordance with State regulations. All hunts are free, but you must possess a free Refuge Hunt Brochure. It may be printed from this website (use the magnifying glass to enlarge the print, then Print View), or you may email the Refuge at  lowersuwannee@fws.gov, or call 352/493-0238, ext. 223 for your free brochure/permit.
